We're excited to invite nephrology trainees from across Australia and New Zealand to the 2026 ANZSN Trainee Weekend - a dynamic and engaging program of learning, skill-building and connection.

Developed by yANZSN and the ANZSN Education and Training Committee, the weekend will feature a mix of case-based discussions, skills-based masterclasses, and lectures designed to help trainees confidently apply knowledge in clinical practice.

Program highlights include:

  • Masterclasses in Obstetric Nephrology, Kidney Genetics, Communications Skills or Research Skills 
  • Small group workshops covering Kidney Replacement Therapy decision making, Challenging Nephrology consults, Renal Physiology in Practice, and Glomerulonephritis Cases 
  • yANZSN Nephrology Trivia on Friday Night 
  • Saturday cocktail-style networking function 

Registration and EOI

  • Registration fee: $400 AUD
  • EOI required – Given the popularity of trainee weekend, places will be prioritised for first-year trainees and first-time attendees, with an overall cap of ~70 participants
  • ANZSN membership not required at EOI stage but all participants are required to be ANZSN members prior to attendance

Travel and Accommodation:

  • Interstate trainees: allowance for flights + 2 nights' accommodation with breakfast
  • Local trainees: allowance for travel/parking + 2 nights' accommodation with breakfast

After the ongoing success of the Trainee Weekend in recent years, we are once again offering an in-person Trainee Weekend in 2026. This will be a fully immersive weekend bringing together trainees from across Australia and New Zealand for a weekend of networking and education. Sponsorship funds will be used to support travel and accommodation for trainees as well as other sundry costs for the workshop.
