Under the banner of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Nephrology, a group of passionate doctors, researchers and specialists have come together to advocate for better guidelines and practices in the environmental sustainability space. Membership of the ANZSN Environmental Sustainability Committee can be viewed here.

We recognise that kidney care has a high environmental impact and believe that as a community, it is our duty to minimise harm and protect and promote a safe and healthy environment. We also recognise the extensive local and international experience demonstrating the benefits of environmental initiatives within the kidney care sector.

Our Purpose

The ANZSN Environmental Sustainability Committee has been formed to advise the ANZSN Council on actions to foster, promote and support environmentally sustainable kidney care in Australia and Aoteraoa New Zealand

Our Strategic Plan

We are striving to educate, innovate, and advocate for sustainable kidney care. Our strategic plan can be viewed here.

The ANZSN is indebted to Professor John Agar and the Barwon Health Renal Service, Geelong, Australia, for permitting their original 2014 website to be adapted and re-shaped by the ANZSN ESC committee into these webpages. We acknowledge the pioneering role that Professor Agar and this single service have played in nurturing and raising the profile of Green Nephrology both nationally and internationally.
